This is an absolutely beautiful book, well made, archival first rate printing, lots of color and b/w pictures, many of which have never been seen before. But.....when I bought a book called “Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin” I was expecting much more “meat” aka interviews, writings from the band members about their memories of the time they were together, interviews with their support team, etc. what I got was 400 odd pages of pictures, nicely organized by year, but little in the way of the deep information and reflection I was expecting for a 50th year anniversary retrospective. It should have been named “The Led Zeppelin Picture Retrospective”. I suppose if you want the story behind the pictures you can buy books by others and piece the story together yourself. I was just expecting so much more. Buy it if you want to see a lot of pictures. If you want deeper coverage then move along to other authors.
